Meet the Teachers

This will be my first year teaching at Legacy Point Elementary, and my first year teaching overall. I am a Colorado Native, but spent the last two years in Oklahoma City while my Fiance graduated from Law School. While in Oklahoma, I subbed at Angie Debo Elementary. I primarily worked with students in Kindergarten through Third Grade, but also helped when needed in Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade and other Specials classes. I am beyond excited to be back in my home state and begin my teaching career in Douglas County because it is the County that I grew up in and loved so dearly. I attended The University of Colorado (Sko Buffs!) and loved every minute of it. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Minor in Leadership Studies through our School of Education. My Fiance and I will be getting married at the end of August, so when I am not wedding planning or preparing to meet this next wonderful Third Grade class, I love to workout and stay active, read as many books as my Kindle will hold, and spend quality time with my family and friends.

This is my thrird year at Legacy Point Elementary. My family and I moved to Colorado from Virginia 2 years ago when my husband’s job transferred him to Denver. I have a daughter, Emma, who will be in first grade at Legacy Point this year. I also have a son, Jack, who just turned 3. We are loving Colorado and being a part of the LPE family. This will be my 17th year teaching. Along with last year here at LPE, I taught 6 years in Virginia and 9 years before that in Oklahoma. I have taught both first, second grade, and third grade. My favorite thing is to spend time with my family. We enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and snowboarding (skiing for the kids). We also enjoy watching movies together, and going to the beach as a family as well!
