FIRST GRADE:

Meet the Teachers

Lindsey Rakovich

My name is Lindsey Rakovich and I teach first grade at Legacy Point.  I am a proud mother of two amazing boys, Carson and Mason.  The boys sure do keep me busy!  We love the beautiful Colorado weather and everything this area has to offer.  We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to return to Colorado where we are close to our family.

From a very young age I knew that I wanted to be a teacher.  I attended Northern Arizona University for college and went on to get my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.  I can’t believe what was once my dream is now my reality. Throughout the years I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grade.  As an educator I hope to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them.

Jocelyn Eyl

Hello!  My name is Jocelyn Eyl (pronounced isle).  I live right here in Parker with my high school science teacher husband and our two kids Colby (21) and Kaylee (19).  I have been at Legacy Point Elementary for 13 years.  I have taught technology, leadership,  kindergarten and now first grade.  I am extremely passionate about Legacy Point, the great things we do here and the kids that attend.  I love, love, love "the littles" and feel especially honored to be able to teach them great things and inspire them to do even greater things!

When I am not teaching, I relish family time, enjoy watching Kaylee play softball,  and delight in the great outdoors whenever we get the chance.

Carla Brown

My name is Carla Brown.   I began at Legacy Point in December of 2021 as the K/1 combo teacher.  I have been in early childhood education for twenty years.   I graduated from Oklahoma State University.   I have taught fourth, third, first and preschool.   I love teaching first grade because it is a year of tremendous growth for students.   I feel blessed to get to be with them everyday and make connections with them and their families.

When I am not at school I spend time with my two girls, Katt and Hannah.   We have enjoyed living in Colorado the last few years with our two dogs, Ace and JT and our cat, Sissy. I enjoy exploring Colorado, camping, hiking and spending time with friends.
