Hello! My name is Kristin Suson, and I am absolutely thrilled to be Iron Horse’s Literacy Interventionist and Library Specialist this year! This will be my 11th year at Iron Horse and my 15th year teaching overall. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, I am a proud graduate of Florida State University (Go Seminoles!). I moved to Colorado in 2015 after teaching in San Francisco, and I have loved every minute of being part of this wonderful school community.

My husband is a fifth-generation Coloradan, and we are so happy to be raising our two children here. Our son, Daniel, is starting eigth grade, and our daughter, Ella, is starting sixth grade this year! As a family, we love reading together, doing crafts, and going for walks with our spunky dog, Marley.

In my new role, I am incredibly eager to help cultivate a deep love for reading and learning across the entire school. Whether I am partnering with your child to build their reading confidence or helping them discover their next favorite book in the library, my goal is to create a space full of joy, kindness, growth, and hard work.

I look forward to working with your family and celebrating your child's literacy journey this year. Let the reading adventure begin!
