Meet the Teacher

Out of all my years in school as a student, I think I'd have to say that 4th Grade was my favorite!  I am excited to be part of the 4th grade team this year,  and fully expect this grade to be my favorite as a teacher as well.  Prior to teaching at FVE,  I served as the BASE Program Manager, and taught preschool/Jr. Kindergarten for 15 years.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies, and a Master of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education.  I am a proud alumni of Metropolitan State University of Denver earning both my BA and MA from there.  I am currently in the final semester of my Educational Specialist (Ed. S.) degree at the University of Northern Colorado, focusing on educational leadership and policy studies.  Beginning in the fall of 2024, I will begin doctoral studies through the University of Northern Colorado.  I honestly can't believe I have the opportunity to work for a further graduate degree while serving the best community in the district.

Outside of the classroom, you can find me running long distances on the trails training for my 8th marathon this fall, or building something in the wood shop.  I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my niece and nephew.  As unfathomable as it may be, I was once in elementary school - to the right is me in 2nd grade (I can't find a 4th grade photo yet!)

I am absolutely here for the continued success of your student, whatever that might look like.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions.  I will always do my best to get an answer back to you within 24 hours during the week.  I sporadically check emails on nights, weekends, and school breaks so responses during those times will be more than the 24 hours.  I cannot express enough how excited I am to walk alongside your family during these vital years of learning for your child.
