Hello and welcome! My name is Kristi Dempsey, and I'm thrilled to be teaching third grade.. This is my fourth year at Pine Grove and my 31st year teaching overall. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this amazing school community.
I'm originally from the Midwest, growing up in Michigan and Illinois. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Education from Purdue University. After college, I spent over a year traveling the world before settling in Colorado. I love learning and continued my education by earning two Master's degrees: one in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction and another in Leadership and Administration.
My family and I have called Highlands Ranch home for 30 years. My husband, Craig, is from Durban, South Africa, and we love visiting his family there whenever we can. Our son, Brody, works as a chemist for Labcorp, and our daughter, Nola, is a sophomore at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, where she is studying sonography. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, traveling, going to concerts, and writing.
In my classroom, my goal is to create a safe, stable, and welcoming environment where students can thrive. This year, your child will grow academically and socially while also developing important self-regulation skills. I believe a strong partnership between you, your child, our school, and the community is key to your child's success. I look forward to working together to make this a wonderful and successful year for everyone!
