Ms. Kathryn

4th Grade

Dear 4th Grade students and families,

Hello! My name is Kathryn Sexton, preferably Ms. Kathryn, and I am very excited to be starting my teaching career at Northeast! I am a Colorado Native, and have lived around the Castle Rock area almost my entire life. Growing up, I had a fantastic education in Douglas County schools and I am happy to be returning, so I can try and give students a fun and memorable experience, much like the one I had.

In addition to my education in Douglas County, I truly enjoyed my undergraduate experience at Colorado State University, studying Human Development and Family Studies. Go Rams! I continued my higher education at the University of Northern Colorado, getting my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Throughout my time in school, I have fallen in love with learning and I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and bring it to Northeast.

When I am not in school, I love spending time with my friends, family, and my boyfriend Patrick. We play a lot of card competitive games and always go to the movies to stay up on all the new films that come out. I enjoy camping and exploring new locations, but most of all, I LOVE visiting the Disney parks, especially Disney World. I am silly and enjoy laughing so you can count on a lot of cheesy jokes this year! I can't wait to see if I can make you all laugh with my weekly joke board. 😊

Some other things about me:

  • Favorite movie: How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • Favorite food: Too many to count, I love all kinds of foods
  • Favorite candy: Sour Patch Kids
  • Favorite color: Grey
  • Favorite Subject: Reading/ Language Arts
  • Favorite sport: Football
  • Hobby: Crafting

This year, I am looking forward to working together as a class so we can have fun and most importantly learn all kinds of new things. I believe that every child deserves a quality education that promotes holistic growth and I hope to do this by guiding my students to be inquirers, explorers, and problem solvers in all areas of their lives.

This year is going to be an exciting one and I look forward to working with you and your families! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I can be contacted at ksexton@dcsdk12.org. I can’t wait to see you all soon!

Kind regards,

Ms. Kathryn
