Mrs. Mannion's

4th Grade

Dear 4th Grade students and families,

Hello! My name is Kathryn Mannion and I am very excited to be starting my third year at Northeast! I am a Colorado Native and have lived around the Castle Rock area almost my entire life. Growing up, I had a fantastic education in Douglas County Schools and I am happy I get to work in Doug. Co., so I can try and give students a fun and memorable experience, much like the one I had.

In addition to my education in Douglas County, I truly enjoyed my undergraduate experience at Colorado State University, studying Human Development and Family Studies. Go Rams! I continued my higher education at the University of Northern Colorado, getting my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Throughout my time in school, I have fallen in love with learning.

In early July, I married my best friend, Patrick. He and I live in Parker with our dog Blue. We enjoy taking Blue on walks and playing fetch with her, although fetch usually turns into a game of “keep-away” as she runs away with the ball instead of returning it to us. In addition, I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We love playing competitive card games and watching all of the latest films. I try to travel to Colorado Springs almost every Sunday to gather and eat large meals with my grandparents and extended relatives. This has become a tradition for my family and is something I look forward to every weekend! Other things I love include crafting, tending to my garden beds, and absolutely all things Disney! 😊

Some other things about me:

  • Favorite movie: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

  • Favorite food: Too many to count, I love all kinds of foods

  • Favorite candy: Sour Patch Kids

  • Favorite color: Grey

  • Favorite Subject: History

  • Favorite sport: Football

  • Hobby: Crafting

This year, I am looking forward to working together as a class so we can have fun and most importantly learn all kinds of new things. I believe that every child deserves a quality education that promotes holistic growth and I hope to do this by guiding my students to be inquirers, explorers, and problem-solvers in all areas of their lives.

This year is going to be an exciting one and I look forward to working with you and your families! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I can be contacted at kathryn.mannion@dcsdk12.org. I can’t wait to see you all soon!

Kind regards, Mrs. Mannion
