We... are... Pawsome!
Each day we collect our Pride in 1136 and Pawdner up! We try to support one another, and be active and generous listeners who help each other get through all the crazy of every single day.
AT HOME
Our together time looks like so:
M: CMS READS!
T: Study Hall 1
W: Social & Emotional Learning
Th: Study Hall 2
F: Cresthill Action News Network
But a safe space to feel okay about our impurrfection is!
Students are encouraged to work on assignments and prepare for tests during Study Hall, either individually or with peers. They can also request and find assistance from teaching staff in areas in which they feel the need for further consultation. This is also a time to check in with counsellors and Learning Specialists.
Students get weekly SHARES grades for participation, effort and stewardship of the learning environment. Participation in CMS Reads also carries a reward grade.
PAWS is a more informal setting than Core class, and is often where students can unwind and chat. That said we do follow a vigorous SEL course entitled 'WAYFINDER' which can be found on my calendar, and Google Classroom.
