Cresthill Middle School cultivates a student-centered Social & Emotional learning programme that fosters both academic achievement, and personal/social development. Throughout our CMS journey, PAWS teachers try to empower all students to reach their full potential amid a culture of lifelong learning and growth, while building sturdy human beings within a safe and supportive environment. Each day the students build their resilience, raise their expectations and develop their potential. 

Students are encouraged to work on assignments and prepare for tests during Study Hall, either individually or with peers. They can also request and find assistance from teaching staff in areas in which they feel the need for further consultation. This is also a time to check in with counsellors and  Learning Specialists.

Students get weekly SHARES grades for participation, effort and stewardship of the learning environment. Participation in CMS Reads also carries a reward grade.

PAWS is a more informal setting than Core class, and is often where students can unwind and chat. That said we do follow a vigorous SEL course entitled 'WAYFINDER' which can be found on my calendar, and Google Classroom.
