Mrs. Iverson's Counselor Corner
I am so excited for another year to be the School Counselor at IHE!
I have been in education for 15+ years with the last 8+ in a mental health position. I believe I have found my forever home at IHE. I have been in CO for over 20 years and during my free time, my husband and I love going to the mountains and hiking. In addition, I enjoy walking and yoga. My family includes 3 human children and 2 cats.
The role of the School Counselor is to support student's academic, social, and emotional development.
All students at IHE will be supported in the classroom with a social emotional curriculum known as Second Step. This curriculum is evidenced based and supports student development through compassionate teaching. In addition I am available for classroom lessons around specific classroom needs.
I will also support students individually and in small group settings to continue building skills so they can become the best learners possible.
In addition, as the 504 coordinator, I work closely with teachers and families to support students needing classroom accommodations in order to fully access their learning.
