I am so excited to be at Frontier Valley Elementary!
As your school counselor, my goal is to support every student’s success through a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. This means I am committed to helping students develop not only academically but also in their social-emotional well-being and future career readiness.
Our counseling program focuses on three key domains:
Academic Development: Supporting students in achieving their educational goals through study skills, goal setting, and personalized support.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Equipping students with the tools to build healthy relationships, manage emotions, and make responsible decisions.
Career Readiness: Helping students explore their interests and strengths, and begin thinking about their future pathways.
Frontier Valley Elementary School Counseling Mission
The mission of the Frontier Valley Elementary school counseling program emphasizes equitable access to support and resources for every student. One clear example of this commitment is the structured process for providing all students with opportunities to participate in school counseling activities, including classroom guidance lessons, small group sessions, and individual support. To ensure accessibility, the program actively reaches out to families who may face barriers. Additionally, counselors work closely with teachers and staff to identify students who may need extra support but are hesitant to seek it, ensuring that no student is overlooked. This proactive approach guarantees that every child at Frontier Valley Elementary has equal opportunities to benefit from the resources and interventions designed to help them succeed.
Frontier Valley Elementary School Counseling Vision Statement
The vision of Frontier Valley Elementary’s comprehensive school counseling will help provide an atmosphere of security, empathy, and encouragement as students work to reach their fullest potential while embracing lifelong learning. Through classroom lessons, small groups, and individual support, students will explore domains of academic development, social and emotional learning, and career exploration. Our students will become compassionate, resilient, and respectful members of their communities, making positive contributions through their chosen career pathway; postsecondary education, career, or military service.
