What is CAS?

CAS is comprised of three strands - Creativity, Activity, & Service - and is at the heart of the IB Programme, It makes up part of core of the Programme, along with the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. CAS allows IB students to become more balanced, well-rounded students while completing the various academic components of the IB Programme. Students participate in CAS over an 18-month period by documenting and reflecting on various experiences, either single or ongoing, under each of the three strands.

Three interviews are conducted over the 18 months with the CAS Coordinator, and TRHS students display and present their CAS Project at Senior Boards in the spring of their senior year. Completion of CAS is based on student achievement of the seven CAS learning outcomes.
