I taught 5th and 6th grades for 7 years in the early 1990s, then took 17 years off from full time teaching in order to raise my own children. For 11 of those 17 years, I substitute taught in DCSD in both Elementary and Middle School. Most of those substitute teaching years were spent teaching Project Wild (a supplemental nature and science curriculum in DCSD). I even homeschooled my children for one year so that we could travel and be free of the school calendar!
I returned to full time teaching in 2014 in a 5th grade classroom at Legacy Point in Parker. I've spent the last 5 years teaching at Cimarron on Team Shire and Team Morgan, and Team Aztec. I cannot wait to meet the new Aztec students in August!
I have a wonderful family and love spending time with them. My husband and I have been married for 24 years and live in Franktown. He is a pilot for United Airlines and a 28 year retired Commander in the US Navy Reserves. We have three children who are all in college! Abby, 20, and Josh, 22, are both at Colorado State University, a junior and a senior. Our oldest, Emily, 23, just graduated from the University of Wyoming in May and is getting married this fall on September 12! We all love hiking, traveling, playing tennis, paddle boarding, kayaking, and the outdoors in general. The highlight of our summer was spending time with family at our lake house in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
