Hello, hello, hello! I am overjoyed to be working with our Gifted and Talented students at SSE this school year. I have been teaching for the past 18 years as a 6th, 4th, 2nd grade teacher, and GT teacher.
My goal this year is work with classroom teachers through co-planning and co-teaching partnerships by pushing into the classroom, pulling out small groups of students for extension or accelerated opportunities, and providing social/emotional learning growth to grow in affective goals. It's important and invaluable that I also get to partner with parents to support the growing and ever-changing needs of our learners so they are challenged, supported, loved, and motivated.
I am native to Colorado, truly there isn't a better place to live in my opinion—especially because we get to enjoy the Colorado Avalanche. Yes, we are a huge hockey family (but I just watch, lol!) My husband and I have two wonderful children who attended Fox Creek, but are now in middle school. Cooper is in 8th grade and he loves to play hockey and golf or anything that keeps him moving. Reagan is in 7th grade and she is passionate about figure skating and honing her skills every time she is out on the ice. I absolutely LOVE being at their practices, matches, competitions, tournaments, and shows. As a family we love to hike, paddle-board, play games, and travel.
Seeing children blossom and grow brings me so many smiles and so much joy. I can't wait for an incredible year of learning and growing!
I am honored to be joining Silver Spruce this year and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Rayburn and will join our school as a Gifted Facilitator. I have 17 years of experience in education and I’m passionate about supporting students, teachers, and families in reaching their full potential. I began my teaching journey teaching in primary classrooms and taught K-3 for 13 years. This is my eighth year working with the advanced academics and gifted and talented department. My passion is working with twice exceptional students and learning with my unique students.
Outside of school, I’m a proud mom to two amazing daughters who are 20 years old and almost 15 years old. We love our sweet dogs Rocky (9), Hope (7) and Bronco (6 months). We love outdoor adventures and traveling. Below is a picture of us at the train station in Zurich, Switzerland visiting my brother last spring.
I work at two schools and will be at Silver Spruce daily in the afternoons. Email is the best way to reach me.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, wonderings, or concerns. I am looking forward to a great year of growth, creativity, and collaboration! I am excited to connect and be part of this wonderful school community!
