Teaching Stats

• As a graphic arts teacher I taught grades pre-k to 5th grade. 

• As a classroom teacher I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in both English and Español 

• I had worked in 3 different schools before I found my home at Fox Creek 

• This is my 5th year at Fox Creek :) 

• This is my 11th year of teaching and I absolutely love every minute of it!

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Hello! I'm Jimmi Frausto, 3rd grade teacher. This is my 11th year teaching and my 5th year at Fox Creek. My philosophy in education is "I believe every human has the right to an education no matter who you are, where you come from, economic background or what your beliefs are. I believe the classroom is an extension of a students home where the whole family can feel welcome, safe and accepted." 

I was born in Leon Guanajuato Mexico. My family came to the United States when I was very young. I grew up in Mundelein IL. I then made the best decision to move to Denver in 2009. 

My teaching journey has taken me on some incredible experiences. Before I was lucky enough to join Fox Creek, I started my career as a graphic arts teacher in Denver Public Schools teaching grades pre-k to 5th grade. I then was incredibly fortunate to be accepted into the Denver Teacher Residency program which gave me my first start in the classroom. Since then I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade in both English and Spanish. 

Before I became a teacher, I worked in banking, music, web design, non profit, marketing and more but deep down inside I knew I wanted to be a teacher. After graduating from the Art Institute, I knew it was time to pursue my dream. It was no easy task, but I am so glad that I did it as I became the first member of my family to graduate from college. 

Outside of work, I have a very active and busy life. I love spending time with my lovely wife, our 3 year old son, dog and kitty. Fun fact, my wife went to Fox Creek in 1995! I have a list of interests. My first passion outside of my family and education is music. I have been playing both guitar and bass guitar for 24 years and enjoy making music with others. I love exploring new areas while riding my road bike, reading books, LEGO, video games, RC, drawing, sports and making homemade pizzas.
