I am looking forward to a fun and purposeful learning experience this school year. I plan on using google classroom as the best way to get information for any homework or if absent. This is more then a classroom, this is a classhome where everyone is welcomed and will be cared for.

Welcome to FACS!

Hi, my name is Melissa Mottinger and I am your FACS teacher here at Ranch View Middle School. I am so excited to meet and get to know you all!

I started teaching in 1996 in a 3rd grade classroom in Fairfax, VA. Fast forward 30 years later, and I am absolutely loving teaching at the middle school level! This is my 6th year teaching FACS here at Ranch View.

Away from school, I have been married for almost 21 years to my husband, Ben, and we have 3 amazing teenagers:

A Sophomore at Colorado Mesa University studying Exercise Science and playing lacrosse
A Freshman at Colorado Mesa University studying Psychology
A 10th grader at Thunderridge High School!

I love to bake, cook, and watch my kids do all their sports! I feel so lucky to teach here at Ranch View. Please always reach out to me with any questions—I look forward to working with you and your middle schooler!

ELECTRONIC DEVICES:

At RVMS, our goal is for every student to have a computer to use throughout the school day. We believe this level of access to technology is vital in preparing students for the world in which they live. A Bring Your Own Device Initiative encourages students to move from textbook readers to worldwide researchers, empowers students to take control of their personalized learning, and enables students to use their understanding of technology for the betterment of their education.
