Meet Mrs. King

Hello!

I am excited to be returning to Heritage for the 2020-2021 school year! This is my fifth year as the school's speech-language pathologist (SLP). I graduated with my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Kansas in 2016 (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!). Prior to joining the Heritage family, I was fortunate to have had many clinical experiences in the Kansas City area working with children of all ages with various communication difficulties. I’m a strong believer that every child deserves a voice and that working alongside families and other educators as a team is the best way to ensure student success.

When I'm not in school, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family and friends. I am also an avid traveler, and have been fortunate to visit many amazing destinations across the U.S. as well as several countries in Europe. I like to stay active and love exploring the outdoors. Last summer, my husband and I took a three week road trip and were able to visit seven national parks in the United States and Canada!

I know this school year will be different for all of us and will require patience, compassion, and flexibility. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding speech, language, or communication.
