Community colleges have become a popular and economic choice. Community colleges are less expensive and allow students to fulfill basic general education requirements. Students can earn a two-year associate degree and or industry certifications. At the end of their two year program, students can look to transfer to a four year university to complete their four-year bachelors degree.
Many community colleges have transfer agreements with four-year universities. When transferring to a four-year colleges, admissions will then primarily look at your college grades. This helps students who feel that they did not do as well as they hoped in high school (grades, gpa, and/or test scores) as the university level will use college transcripts in their admission decision.
The community college application process is very simple. These colleges do not require standardized tests or essays, only a high school diploma.
