My name is Debi Goldberg and I am so excited to work with your child this year as Heritage's Reading Interventionist! We will partner together to get your child reading at grade level so he or she can become a lifelong reader!
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and attended Northern Illinois University where I received my bachelors in Elementary Education. In 2007, I was certified in SLANT System Structured Literacy, an OG based Structured Language Program. Recently, I have also attended OG Basic and OG Advanced Morphology training provided through DCSD. As you can see, Structured Literacy is my jam! In Illinois, I taught Kindergarten and 1st Grade. In DCSD, I have taught Sustainability, Kindergarten, 2nd Grade and Reading Intervention.Â
As for my personal life, I met my husband, Eric, back when we were at Northern Illinois University and we have been married for 20 years. Thirteen years ago, we moved our family to Colorado and have not looked back! We have two children, who both attended Heritage Elementary and are now at MVHS and MRMS, Nathan (14) and Katelyn (12). Last year, we adopted our dog, Cooper, who is one of the most spoiled dogs, ever. One of my favorite things about Colorado is you can ALWAYS find a way to get outside! There are so many amazing things to do and see in this amazing state! In our spare time, my family enjoys spending time in the mountains, hiking, fishing, and just spending quality time together.
Thank you for sharing your child with me this year! I promise to love them like they were my own!
