Mrs. Barr Welcomes YOU!     

  I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.   This is my twenty-ninth year at Cougar Run.  I have taught First, Second, and Third Grade throughout these  years. Prior to that I taught eight years in a private school.   I have my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling.  I have a wonderful husband and three beautiful children. My oldest, Tucker passed away four years ago in August. My daughter Madelyn is a nurse at Littleton Hospital and my youngest Jacob  is working for a medical sales company.  I am  blessed  with two granddaughters,  Remi, is six years old and Hudsyn will turn four in August. I feel fortunate to have a sweet  daughter in law , Bella , and spending time with all my family. 

 I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year of learning and growing together with your child.  I hope this will be a special year for your child.  Our first grade team has been working hard to make this year exciting . Please talk to me when you have something to share, or if there is something you are unsure of.   I look forward to having a great year with my students.  My students inspire me with their desire to learn new things.  I believe that students should learn something new each day and be encouraged to take risks in a safe learning environment.  Children should be empowered by peers and adults to share their thinking.   I look forward to meeting all of you.
