I am so excited to be a part of the Mountain Peak family!
As a teacher and a parent, I am passionate about fostering a supportive and engaging environment for every student.
I am the proud mom of two amazing young adults who both completed their educational journeys right here in Douglas County Schools. My daughter, Olivia, graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 2025 and is currently has her first "big girl job" as an energy analyst. My son, Daniel, is a senior at the University of Arizona studying history; he hopes to share his passion for the past as a high school history teacher!
I have been teaching for 15 years, first as a classroom teacher in 1st and 2nd grade and currently, I am loving my role as a Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher. This work is very close to my heart—my son navigated his school years as a student with mild/moderate needs, and it was always my goal to "pay it forward" by being the same kind of advocate for my students that his teachers were for him. I certainly have some big shoes to fill!
When I’m not at school, I am likely hanging out with my "constant companion," my sweet dog Denali. She makes sure I get my steps in every day and never lets me sleep too late on the weekends!
In my spare time, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my children. We love hiking together, playing board games, and experimenting with new recipes.
I am also:
A huge Harry Potter nerd: I’ve read and listened to the series more times than I can count!
An avid reader: I usually have both a fiction and a non-fiction book going at once.
A fan of the Colorado lifestyle: You can often find me at local movies, street fairs, farmers' markets, or simply enjoying the beautiful Colorado scenery.
