Meet Mrs. Bettner

My name is Carolyn Bettner and I am so excited that I work at Heritage Elementary, as a Moderate Needs Interventionist. In addition to working as a Moderate Needs Interventionist, I have 8 years of experience working as a speech/language therapist, working with students of all ages. I have experience working in a birth to 3 program, a 3-5 year old program, and k-12th grade schools, providing both inclusive and pull out small group therapy and interventions. I have worked closely with special educators, classroom teachers, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Social Workers, OT/PTs, and Behavior Specialists. In 2014, I completed the Stanley British Primary School Teacher Prep Program and received my certification to teach K-6th grade. During that time I completed my Masters in Educational Psychology, from the University of Colorado, Denver.

A little about me… I was born and raised in Newark, Delaware, and attended The College of Wooster, in Ohio, where I received my bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2000. I moved to sunny Colorado in 2001. I live in Highlands Ranch with my husband Scott, my two kids, Tyler and Alexis, and our dog, Sage. We enjoy swimming at the rec centers, going to the park, hanging out with our friends, and going out for ice cream.

I am so excited for the opportunity to work in the community where I live. I know it will be a great year!
