Hello! My name is Travis Burhart, and I am excited to be teaching 4th grade at Pine Grove. I am originally from Los Angeles but grew up in the greater Nashville area. This is my fourth year in education and third year at the elementary level.
Hello! My name is Travis Burhart, and I am excited to be teaching 4th grade at Pine Grove. I am originally from Los Angeles but grew up in the greater Nashville area. This is my fourth year in education and third year at the elementary level.
A little about me – I graduated from Florida State University with my Bachelor’s in Environmental Science. I spent the next year working at a tuition-free boarding school in Estes Park on a consulting team that supported school districts across the country. Although I enjoyed my time there, I realized how much I wanted to actually be in a classroom with students! Following that, I earned my Master’s in Teaching while working in Aurora Public Schools. As a teacher, I care deeply about creating a safe and welcoming environment where students feel empowered to step outside their comfort zones academically and socially. I also value family partnership to ensure students have the strongest support system possible.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy all things outdoors (backpacking, rock climbing, and snowshoeing), as well as reading time with friends. I’m looking forward to a great year together!
