Hello and welcome to my 1st grade class! I would like to give you a little background information about myself. My expertise is in early childhood education. I have taught preschool through third grade. I am proud to say that I have taught kindergarten through third grade at Pine Grove since 2002. I have enjoyed serving on the Building Leadership Team for many years. I was honored to be the Apple Award representative for Pine Grove for the 2016-2017 school year. I am also the Spelling Bee Coordinator for Pine Grove.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, a minor and license in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's Degree in Education Specializing in Literacy Instruction. I have completed all coursework towards a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership Specializing in Effective Schools. I am taking a break from this degree due to my limited free time right now :). I love school! I believe we should never stop learning. And, the more I learn, the more I realize there is so much more knowledge to gain!

I have 2 wonderful daughters. Kiarra is in 12th grade and Alani is in 9th grade. I grew up in Parker and I'm proud to say that my girls are also getting their education in Douglas County schools. My husband and I just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. I love animals! We have 2 big dogs, and two cats. My husband and I are Colorado natives. My family enjoys hiking, biking, snowboarding and enjoying the ever changing Colorado weather! I also treasure quiet time and curling up with a good book!

I create a safe, comfortable learning environment in my classroom in which students feel confident and capable of learning. I have high expectations and believe that every child can learn with the correct tools. We will work hard to accomplish our goals and we will operate from a place of kindness.
