Class Information

Allergies - We have a _allergy in class. Thank you for respecting the health of all of our students.

Behavior (School Expectations) - Our class expectations are to show PRIDE in all that we do: Perseverance, Respect and Responsibility, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy. This promotes an environment where teaching and learning can occur. I focus on positive specific behavior and recognize individuals with Class Dojo points, Positive Paws, and other motivators as created by the class throughout the year.

Birthdays - Birthdays are recognized in class throughout the day. As a school wide policy birthday treats are not allowed. Please do not send birthday party invitations to be distributed at school unless all children in class receive an invite. A class list will be given out so you can e-mail invites directly.

Breakfast - Please make sure students eat a healthy breakfast daily.

Celebrations - WME plans time for a Halloween, Winter, and Valentine class parties.

Chromebooks - Students will work on their own Chromebooks in class using Google Suite

Conferences - Parent and teacher conferences are an important part of your child's success this year. The conference dates this year are September 21, 23, and March 8, 10. You'll receive a sign-up link closer to the dates.

EnVisions Math - Our math program

EPR - Elementary Progress Report found on EngagED given mid-and end of year.

Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) - If you or/and your child would like more practice or support on a skill or subject area, I offered ELO's in class and on-line throughout the year.

Field Trips - TBA

Flat Stanley - We will be sending out mail to learn more about different parts of the world. Each student will need a relative or friend who would like to participate in this project who doesn't live in Colorado. More info to come.

Friday Folder - Please check your child's Friday Folder weekly for important information.

Homework - I do not require homework, although I encourage students and families to read 20-30 per night. There are practice activities linked every week in our news letter as well.

Library - We visit Mrs. Buckland in the school library every Wednesday. Students are allowed to check-out up to four books for 2 weeks at a time. Books must be returned or renewed every week.

Lost and Found - WME has a lost and found area at the front of the school. Please check there if your child is missing anything brought to school.

Lunch - We have lunch at 1:05-1:45. See the cafeteria menu for more info.

Parties - WME plans time for a Halloween, Winter, and Valentine class parties.

Photos - Please do not post any class photos that show children other than your own on social media.

PRIDE - Our school values character and student growth using PRIDE: Perseverance, Respect/Responsibility, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy.

PRIDE Winner - Each week, our Star Student of the Week will be displayed on WME TV monitors and announced in the school-wide newsletter for being a leader in one or more characteristics in P.R.I.D.E.

Recess - We will have recess everyday. Taking away recess is not a consequence. During inclement weather, we will have indoor recess in the classroom.

Shop Day - All third grade students will create and run their own business in May.

Snack - We have a late lunch, so please send a healthy snack with your child each day.

Volunteers - Sign-up Genius for Volunteers when needed

Water - Water bottles are allowed in class. We will store them near the sink. We will send bottles home on Friday to be washed.

Wonders - WME's reading resource. Students can access books, games, and resources online to support classroom learning.
