Meet Mrs. Stevens....

I'm so glad that you are going to be in my class this year! We will be learning lots of fun and interesting things. I can’t wait to start. I recognize some names, but many are new names to me. For those of you that I have not met, please let me introduce myself. I have taught at Bear Canyon for 22 years. 14 of them being in first grade and this will be my 8th year as a third-grade teacher. I am supported by my wonderful family, my husband Nate, and my two children Caden (20), who will be playing basketball at the Air Force Academy and Taylor (16) who will be a Junior at Mountain Vista.

         Parents, teachers, and students are a team. It is my goal to create a safe, stable, and welcoming environment for your child where he or she can grow academically, socially and emotionally. I look forward to working with you to help your child become the best 3rd grader he or she can be. I am excited to partner with you this year to help your child have a successful and fun learning experience!  As you may have read in my Welcome Letter, this is my 22nd year teaching, my 8th year at BCE,  and my 3rd year teaching in 3rd!  My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where my students are challenged and feel supported so they can meet their goals this year academically, socially, and emotionally.  I value communication and invite you to reach out to me anytime you have questions, concerns, or just want to share news with me!  My email is: kstephens@dcsdk12.org
