Mrs. Sobel's Art Class
Art 7/8 - Everyone Welcome - 🎨
Our class works in both two- and three-dimensional art. We use paint, pencils, markers, plaster, linoleum, fabric, cameras, wire, cardboard, and clay to make art. Some of the projects students work on include pillows, linoleum block prints, photography, landscape drawings, figure drawings, paintings in one- or two-point perspective, pinch pots and coil pots, wire and cardboard sculptures, and whatever else you can think of.
Students learn techniques that are specific to a certain medium at the beginning of each new project. This may include sewing, building with cardboard, using a camera, or mixing and blending colors.
We also analyze images by professional artists to understand the context of their work, and how it applies to our lives today.
