Hello!
My name is Annie McGinnis and I am beyond excited to get to be your child's Kindergarten teacher! In Kinder-”garden”, every child is a unique seed with incredible potential. With care, encouragement, and lots of curiosity, we’ll watch them bloom throughout the year.
Teaching and inspiring the youth has always been something I have felt called to do. This passion is rooted in my experience of growing up with a brother on the Autism spectrum. Working with kids with special needs is something I have always been passionate about. This is why I pursued my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Kentucky University. Here, I developed a strong interest in how kids grow and learn. Later, I completed my Master’s in Elementary Education at Adams State University.
I especially love teaching Kindergarten because it’s such an important and exciting year. Students are learning foundational skills—in reading, math, and social development—that will set them up for success throughout the rest of their academic journey and their life! It’s such a joy to watch their confidence grow as they take on new challenges and discover what they’re capable of.
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time outdoors and staying active. My boyfriend, Braden, and I moved to Colorado in the summer of 2024, and we’ve really fallen in love with everything this beautiful state has to offer. I enjoy running, hiking, snowboarding, and going on camping and backpacking adventures. In my free time, I also prioritize yoga, which helps me stay centered and energized. It’s something I bring into our classroom as well! We’ll use short yoga sessions, like “Cosmic Kids Yoga” on YouTube, as fun brain breaks to help us reset and refocus throughout the day.
