Shanna Conn

I am thrilled to welcome you to our 4th grade classroom at Legacy Point Elementary and share my love of learning with you.  My mission statement is: Teach and Protect. Be prepared, be present, be purposeful. Make a difference!

As a teacher, I take great pride in getting to know each student and helping every one of them work to their full potential. The students are expected to be leaders in our classroom and I will take every opportunity to help them develop independence, responsibility, integrity, and ownership of their learning. Students engagement is critical; I will do everything in my power to help keep students enthused about learning. Beginning with the end in mind, I strive to help each learner be prepared for their next learning opportunity, as well. The Leader In Me, use of the planner, and living the 8 Habits are integral to our classroom culture.

I am Ms. Ferguson, and I am so excited to welcome you and your child to our 4th-grade classroom at Legacy Point Elementary! Fourth grade is such an inspiring year, and I love seeing the enthusiasm and curiosity that each student brings. I’m looking forward to getting to know your child and working together with them as they explore new ideas and grow as creative, capable, and amazing thinkers.

A little bit about me: I am a Colorado native and attended DCSD schools while growing up. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design and Merchandising. Despite this being far from a teaching degree, I've enjoyed bringing my creative flair into the classroom. School has always been a passion of mine—it was my favorite thing to do as a child. Following a stint as a long-term substitute, I discovered my love for teaching.
