Thank you for taking the time to visit the website for my classes!
I am excited to enter my twelfth year of teaching in Douglas County. Having grown up in the Carson Valley, I always knew I wanted to teach here after college.
I earned a BA in Political Science and a BS in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2011, and I obtained a Master of Arts in Elementary and Secondary Teaching from Sierra Nevada College in 2014. I hold a K-8 Elementary teaching license as well as a 7-12 Secondary teaching license with endorsements in Social Studies and Advanced Computer Science.
In Douglas County, I have experience teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I have taught every core content area as well as numerous electives. As my academic and professional experiences reflect, I have an interest in a wide variety of subject areas, and I have most recently become passionate about sparking students' interest in computer science.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, live music, and collecting records.
Please feel free to contact me throughout the year as we embark upon the study of computer science!
Together in Education,
Daniel Hyden
