Officer Selection Criteria: To be selected for an appointment as an officer or warrant officer in the U.S. VRC, the following minimum entry standards must be met:
A. Minimum of 21 years of age at time of application.
B. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent for Warrant Officers, and an Associate Degree for Officers.
C. No criminal convictions, misdemeanor or felony.
D. Equivalent military and/or civilian leadership experience.
1. Former US military commission or comparable military leadership qualities,
2. Comparable civilian emergency management experience; or
3. Any combination of the two.
E. For veterans, honorable separation from the armed forces.
F. No current federal military or other state defense force service obligations.
