Hi! I am Mrs. Valdez and I am your school counselor! I am so glad you are here. I am the school counselor at Barrett Ranch Elementary and Olive Grove Elementary this year. This is my 4th year in the Dry Creek school district and my 6th year as a school counselor and I love it! 

A little about me... I grew up in Roseville area before heading off to college at San Jose State University, where I received my bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Communications. I then went on to graduate school at Sacramento State to receive my master's degree in School Counseling!

When I am not at school, I love beach days with my family where my 2 daughters can get as sandy as humanly possible. We also love rooting for our favorite sports teams. My favorite team to watch is the Sacramento Kings and I was so excited that last time we made it to a game, we got to see them LIGHT THE BEAM! 

As a school counselor, I am here to ensure that students have what they need to be successful in school. I teach skills and lessons to promote problem-solving skills, create a safe and supportive learning environment for all, and build resiliency skills through addressing coping skills, goal-setting, and self-awareness.
