The Student Leadership Team: It Could Be You!
We believe that a vibrant and enthusiastic student leadership team are core to continuing to develop a strong 6th form identity and value system that every student in the school aspires to be a part of.
The student leadership team is the voice of the 6th form body and liaises with the school council in their meetings bringing issues and requests from the 6th form to the school staff and acting as a sounding board for potential thinking and development of the 6th form area with the Director of 6th Form and the Heads of 6th Form Standards.
The team is made up of:
Student President
The President of the 6th form is the leader, who is the primary voice of the 6th form. The President will need to provide support, advice and guidance to the student body and be supportive of the aims and intents of the 6th form throughout the academic year. Will develop agendas and attend regular meetings with the 6th form Pastoral team. This post is only open to Yr 13 pupils.
Student Vice President
Helps the Student President in their role and responsibilities across the school. The Vice President will need to provide support, advice and guidance to the student body and be supportive of the aims and intents of the 6th form Pastoral team throughout the academic year. Will work alongside the President to develop agendas and attend regular meetings with the 6th Form Pastoral team. This post is only open to Yr 13 pupils.
Events & Fundraising Officer
Event & Fundraising Officer’s role is to suggest and plan/organise all events (with the 6th form administrator) pertaining to the 6th form. They are to liaise and work closely with the Student President & Vice President and 6th Form Administrator. This post exists for those activities that allow the 6th Form to take the opportunity to celebrate life as a DCHS 6th former by supporting the organisation and design of key 6th form events and support with lower school activities. This post is open to any pupil to apply for from Yr 12 or 13.
Charities/Communities Officer
The Charities and Communities Officer will lead on suggesting, planning and organising charities events and outreach work in the community. This role will help positively present the 6th form to the local community and help students demonstrate a willingness to become global, purposeful young people. This post is open to any Yr 12 or 13 pupil.
Media & Publicity Officer
The Media and Publicity Officer will communicate primarily through email, social networking sites and liaise with the 6th form Pastoral Team to set-up and maintain a 6th form student voice page on the school website. We want our 6th form to have positive publicity – from dinners, school trips to hoodies to fundraisers to tours of the school. It’s a great way to let the wider community know about the outstanding activities and opportunities you get in the 6th form. It will be your job to create a buzz about all things 6th form and to promote the very best of the 6th form. This position is open to any pupil in Yr 12 or 13.
The roles of Events & Fundraising Officer, Charities & Communities Officer and Media & Publicity officer are open for applications from Year 12 students. The term of office lasts 1 year.
