Mr. James Sewell serves as Director of Bands. In addition to all his administrative duties, he serves as Director of the BHS Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Symphonic Band.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in music education at Troy University, where he studied Trombone with Mr. James Smith, and conducting with Dr. John M. Long. Mr. Sewell went on to serve as a graduate assistant to the Troy University Band program while completing his Master's Degree.

Bands and students under Mr. Sewell's direction have received many honors at the regional and state level having taught middle school and high school band.

Mr. Sewell has two daughters, Jordan Poole, and Makenzie Sewell
