Hello Sixth Grade Families!
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at ACADC! My name is Ms. Merrill, the 6th grade math and science teacher. I am excited to partner with you to foster academic excellence and virtuous growth this year. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself as we begin the year.
Growing up in Centennial, CO, I attended various public schools which contributed to a love for learning. In high school, through my leadership as section leader and drum major in the Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band, I developed skills to lead others through various challenges with teamwork, persistent effort, and commitment to excellence. I look forward to applying these skills in the classroom. Continuing my involvement in music, I sang in audition choirs, including Colorado All State Choir. Ultimately, the experiences I had in K-12 education contributed to my dedication to train the minds and improve the hearts of others.
As a former teacher’s aide and long-term substitute, I led various science projects, guided history lessons, and cultivated a culture that encouraged academic rigor and growth in virtue. While spending time in the classroom, I delighted in engaging students and sparking curiosity in their learning. I am confident that with my energy and enthusiasm for teaching, I will create a classroom full of wonder- hearted in virtue- where students can explore, learn, and grow.
Beyond the classroom, I take advantage of this beautiful state and love to go on various adventures including fishing, hiking, and exploring. I enjoy singing in professional choirs, writing music, and being a counselor for youth camps. I cherish the relationships I have with my family and enjoy the chances I get to spend time with them. Through my study at Utah State University and my ongoing education in Family and Human Services, I hope to deepen my knowledge of child development, to further enhance my teaching abilities.
I am looking forward to an incredible academic school year. Please reach out if you have any questions about my classroom or the upcoming school year. I’m here to support you and your student every step of the way!
Best Regards,
Ms. Merrill
