Welcome!
Dean of Academics | 7th Grade History Teacher
ABOUT ME
I'm a dedicated educator who loves to build learning environments that spark curiosity and support real growth.
My background includes work as a middle school special education teacher and as Principal of a K-8 Christian school, where I taught multiple subjects and trained other educators. My work has included teacher development and supporting students with learning disabilities, all in service of academic excellence.
Outside the classroom, I've worked as an electrician and an architectural millwork project manager. After earning my Master of Divinity, I served as a teaching pastor, which further shaped my communication and leadership skills.
GET TO KNOW ME
My favorite book series is The Lord of the Rings, especially for the friendships that carry the story. "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you and it as well. So up you get! Come on, Mr. Frodo dear! Sam will give you a ride."
My favorite subject is American history, of course. I love teaching middle schoolers about the ideals that make this a great country and the importance of striving to live up to them.
What I love most about Ascent is the teamwork—knowing that everyone here has the same mission and purpose.
For fun, I take on handyman jobs. For me, it's extremely satisfying to fix with my hands what's broken.
