ABOUT ME

I was raised here in Colorado, falling in love with the mountains through many family ski trips. Winter is my favorite season of the year, especially when a fresh coat of snow brings out the beauty in everything. I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Mechanical engineering. A love for encountering people and a desire to serve them is what changed the course of my career from engineering to education.

EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

My education philosophy rests on the foundation of the transcendentals of goodness, truth, and beauty. With those as the focus, education becomes a pursuit of growing the person, rather than only collecting facts that are useful. Goodness, truth, and beauty bring a completeness to life and are worth pursuing without need of any other reason to do so. One of the most important things to me in that pursuit is the employment of questions, being bold enough to ask them is what fuels each individuals growth in learning and are always encouraged in my classroom.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO

I am excited to teach both PreAlgebra and Algebra this year.  Also, I am looking forward to getting to know the Ascent community and becoming a part of it, getting to help the students pursue all that is good, true, and beautiful.
