Meet your teacher

Mr. Lawson |  Physical Education |  Ascent Classical Academy Douglas County

Greetings Families!

My name is Mr. Lawson, and I am so excited to be partnering with you in your child’s education this school year.

I was born and raised in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. I attended Kentucky State University, and received my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. After graduating, I worked for the Department of Labor in Job Corps.

When I'm not teaching you can usually find me spending time with my family and church. Growing up I played every sport possible, but found my true passion through golf. I've been playing golf competitively since the fifth grade and it even earned me a scholarship to play at the collegiate level which was pretty awesome!

Prior to moving to Colorado in the beginning of 2023, I was the Owner of Kentucky Blended Nutrition. Serving my community and helping others is what brings me joy. Health and wellness is what changed and saved my life, as I have personally lost over 160 lbs naturally through diet and exercise.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share this time with you and your family as a teacher at Ascent. My goal as your child's instructor is to be a positive male presence and someone that each of the students can feel safe with to learn and grow.

I am excited for the school year and please do not hesitate to email if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

My Best,

Mr. Lawson

Educational Philosophy

Students want and need to learn as much as they need food, clothing and shelter. An educator's primary job is to fill that primal need for learning by creating engaging and relevant learning experiences every day. The greatest gift a teacher can give students is motivating them to experience repeated learning success.

What i'm looking forward to

I'm looking forward to seeing the growth in all the students as they are maturing into the future leaders of tomorrow!
