Welcome!
I am Mr. Glueckert and I teach both 8th grade Introduction to American Literature and 8th grade Grammar and Composition. I am a graduate of St. John's College, a school dedicated to conversation around the great books of the Western Canon. Wile there, I studied the languages of Ancient Greece and France, philosophy, mathematics, world literature, physics, biology, and political theory. I am happy to be teaching at a school that engages students in the questions that the Great American Novels pose. My goal as a teacher is to help instill within my students a sense of curiosity that goes beyond the classroom. I hope that by the time they leave my class, they will be one step closer to becoming life-long learners. Some of my favorite authors are Leo Tolstoy, Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Frost, and Mary Oliver.

My favorite book is War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.
My favorite subject is literature.
What I love most about Ascent is the teamwork, the sense that everyone here is building toward the same thing together.
For fun, I write and read, hike, and play soccer.
