  • Please register first using your academic institutional email to receive the dbNSFP Access Code and download links.

  • Previously registered users can re-use their Access Code to request download for the latest versions of dbNSFP.

• License fees apply for using dbNSFP in commercial companies or when used in developing monetized products or services in non-profit organizations. This licensing model ensures the continued development and maintenance of dbNSFP resources for both academic and industry users. 

  • Please refer to the License page for information on the licensing process to obtain the full dbNSFP data set for commercial use.

Usage and Data Format

• dbNSFP traditionally includes per-chromosome files bundled with the search_dbNSFP Java program (Usage), which can be used to search for SNVs in various formats and genome builds. 

  • We aim to maintain a stable file format for dbNSFP to minimize the development time needed for adapting the latest dbNSFP data to current tools and platforms.

• We also provide dbNSFP in BGZF format for the convenience of end users, ready to use with SnpEff and VEP.

Web Query Service

• We also provide a web service for the convenience of end users to search variants in the current version of dbNSFP data online. 

  • Academic users can access this service for free using the Access Code following registration.

  • Commercial and personal users can also apply here for immediate access to a free trial of the dbNSFP web query service.
