Antique Social
Statement
“Today we live in a day and age of instant social gratitude.
We all want to be accepted and liked. However, due to social media, I feel, there is also an increase in social discrimination. I speak from personal experience. I have witnessed, family, friends and even myself different forms of discrimination. This can be extremely stressful for the individual to cope. People dealing with any form of social discrimination finds it difficult to deal with or how to communicate with other individuals. Therefore, I feel
that there’s a genuine need to educate younger individuals from an early
age on the different forms of social discrimination.
My MDP focus on educating year 7 students on social discrimination.

Cerebral Palsy Interactive Table
Statement
With the ongoing lockdowns within Australia due to COVID-19, a need for continual education in the home environment for special needs children, arose. My second cousin, Charlie, has Cerebral Palsy. I realised that his family needed a multifunctional table; which converted from an activities table; aimed at promoting cognitive skills and muscle memory, into a functional family table.
The activities are attached by magnets, which allows it to become multifunctional, but also, serves the purpose of, Charlie not easily knocking the activities off the table, due to his muscle spasms.
This table is made from recycled materials. The top is made out of old decking timber, the frame of the table made out of Mercy’s old school desk. The idea of utilising recycled materials makes my design a sustainable product with minimal environmental impact.

Car Tēburu Organiser
Statement
The aim for my major design project was to create a table organiser for cars to support entertainment and activities during long car travels. I was inspired by for my sister, who suffers motion sickness. This car caddy organiser creates a space for her to distract herself, so she would not interrupt/ the rest of the people in the car. Meaning fewer distractions for the driver.

P.W.S (PORTABLE WORKING STATION)
Statement
Due to the worldwide COVID19 Pandemic, millions of people have been confined to their homes. My parents previously worked in an office environment and have been forced to change to home-based work as a result of COVID19 lockdowns. Throughout the pandemic and now 3 lockdowns, my parents have found it difficult working inside a household of five (two adults and three teenagers), due to distractions from my siblings and I and a lack of working space.
In my home there is only one office area in which my Dad works. As a result my Mum has to move around the house to different locations to create makeshift office working spaces. These arrangements were not ideal as my mum is often struggling to constantly transport her work supplies around and taking up room in the kitchen and lounge spaces. This sometimes causes hazards such as charging cords hanging from the lounge to the power point. On sunny days, my Mum has been trying to work on the outside dining table, though this has become problematic as transporting her work supplies to different locations became tedious and an inconvenience. She also faces the challenge of her computer dying whilst being outside, as a result being confined to short working periods, therefore an easy and convenient solution needed to be found.

Knitting Tool Kit for Arthritic Hands
Statement
As a little girl I would spend a lot of time with my grandmother; cooking, sawing, knitting. However, overtime I noticed that she was slowing down, due to her rheumatoid condition. She has not able to continue her loved activity, knitting. I felt compelled for the love of my grandmother to create a product that would help her continue her activity and somehow alleviate the pain associated with the repetitive moment of knitting.
