Ranked sixtieth in NIRF 2021, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi, is the oldest college in Southern part of the Delhi with more than 6000 students taking admission each year. The colleges publishes nearly 200 research publications in SCI/ SCOPUS/UGC-CARE indexed international and national referred journals per year and has received many research grants. The college has established i4 Centre for promoting interdisciplinary research under the “DBT-Star College” Scheme, Department of Biotechnology. The college has a total of eighteen departments with all the three basic streams, science, commerce and arts. The college boasts for having four world class Research laboratories with more than twenty Ph.D. scholars and two Post-Doctoral Research fellows engaged in full-time research activities. It's library ranked one by DRDO having the largest collection of books and journals both in print and digital medium. Recently the college has developed green landscaping in about four acres supporting the local biodiversity of more than 35 species. Also the college has been developed to become environment friendly with installation of solar panels for maximizing the use of natural power resources. towards the better enviornment.

The global population health status indicates the rapid increase in the incidence of cancer and is the cause of high mortality rates. A surge in cancer cases has been observed due to various reasons such as lifestyle related behaviors, carcinogenic exposures, occupational hazards and genetic epidemiology. This makes cancer literacy and knowledge an important step against cancer. Taking the various issues into consideration, we need to define a roadmap towards effective programmes for comprehensive cancer control and awareness. Cancer awareness makes early detection of cancer that further helps in the management and treatment. The awareness also paves a path towards prevention of cancer by living a healthy lifestyle. The aim of the conference is to understand the latest successful interventions in prevention, diagnosis, timely-accessed treatment, care and control of cancer. Now, the time is to unite and stand against the global cancer burden and to move towards the advancement of global cancer control that leaves no one behind.
