Because of the need for sustained rigor, students will receive a portion of their grade through weekly academic engagement points.
Academic engagement refers to the extent and intensity with which students participate in and apply themselves to learning and other school activities, as well as the supportive relationships and structures that exist to support student engagement.
Students who do not get academic engagement points receive a "no count" score and aren't disadvantaged (grade-wise). Students who are engaged receive an enhanced score regarding their overall grade.
