We, at Days Creek, are striving to create students who pursue excellence in all their endeavors.  Students will reflect on what they believe excellence means, and how to effectively pursue it in their daily life.

Capstone Project/Reflections

• The Capstone Project should incorporate student passions and interests for career and/or service.

• Identify which type of capstone will be completed: 

  • Research, Event Planning, Experiment, Service Learning, or Internship

• The Capstone Project should be intended to improve the local community or prepare student for a professional career.

• The Capstone Project will be approved by Capstone Advisor and Administration Team. 

  • Requires (15) hours of project time, to be recorded and included in the Final Reflection presentation

  • Project should be driven by student initiative

  • Project should challenge the student to explore beyond their comfort zone

  • Seek advisors other than school staff

• Final Reflection presentation: (April 18th 1:00-3:25) 

  • Student will present the Final Reflection presentation at the end of the school year to the Days Creek Charter Board, parents, and community and should demonstrate a readiness for graduation.

  • Student will include samples of at least (3) assignments they are proud of from their time at Days Creek Charter School, and explain why those assignments were chosen. Included should be at least (1) writing sample and (1) example of math proficiency. 

  • Student will explain their Capstone Project or job shadow and what was learned from the experience.

  • Student will showcase (1) area of growth they experienced during their time at Days Creek Charter School.

  • Student will share final goals/Capstone Experience reflection.

  • Students will share continuing education goals. 

  • Students will reflect upon what they learned from their mock job interview. 

  • Student will present their final Career Readiness File for evaluation by the Days Creek Charter Board.
