The materials I used for this project included the following:
6.5" x 12.5" 1/2" Plywood Board
Masking Tape
Superglue
The equipment used for the project included the following:
Laptop (Macbook)
CNC Machine
Band Saw
Handheld Sander
The software used for the project included the following:
Adobe illustrator
Fusion 360
The finishe plaque. (crop is due to sites)
To create this project I followed a series of steps:
I made the original design in Adobe Illustrator by inserting a side profile of the desired outline, a shelby roadster. I then traced the coupe with the pen tool to get an outline shape. I added the text in a text box and matched it up to the outline. To make it one object, I connected the letters to the car. To eliminate the overlap and increase legibilty, I replaced the rear tire with the "G" in garage.
Once finished in Illustrator, I opened it in Fusion 360. In Fusion 360, I extruded it 1/2" to form a 3D shape. I then created toolpaths with different sized bits to tell the CNC to do the right actions. I uses pocket contours for closed shapes, and 2D contours for remaining outlines. I used 2 different toolpaths, one for each bit size, to get the cut to be as precise as possible while taking the least amount of time.
Once these contours were complete, I simulated the whole process to make sure everything looked right, then sent the file to the CNC computer. At the CNC, I taped the back of the plywood as well as the part of the CNC where I would be starting the cut. I glued the board to the CNC to stop the plywood from flying out from the machine.

Reflection
What went well during this project?
Using fusion 360 for the first time went pretty well. There are a lot of parts/steps to remember for in the future.
What challenges did you face?
Missing a step during a guide would throw me off or cause problems further into the project.
What would you do differently if you were to do this project again?
I would position the text differently in relation to the car outline, I think it would look "cleaner".
