I began by downloading the base model for the picture frame, then resizing it to match my stock. I found the measurement of the stock by using calipers and measuring tape.
I spray painted my stock and cut it on the CNC Machine, I then used sandpaper to smooth the sides down and clear any loose wood splinters.
This is the art I made for the frame. It's a sentence that reads, "Everyone is Loved" in the constructed language Toki Pona. I love spreading positivity, so I'm very proud of what I created for this project
Once my art was ready, I sent it to the Roland printer for printing. I learned how to work the printer and cut the prints when they were done.
After all that, I cut out backing and acrylic, then mounted them to the frame using toggles(glaze points didn't work). I'm very proud of the final product.
The major steps in this project were Measuring the scrap, modeling and cutting the wood, painting it, making and printing art, applying clearcoat, cutting out backer and acrylic, and mounting glaze points.
I found Fusion as a program very confusing, as my only CAD knowledge up until now has been in Tinkercad.
I learned how involved the woodworking process is and I learned how to operate lots of machines in the maker space.
I used Adobe Illustrator for my artwork
I chose my artwork based on its meaning to me (see "The Art" above)
