This project has been documented as a prototype of a design document that students might use to document their large scale project for Innovation and Technology classes at Dawson. All relevant information will be updated in the Google Doc included below. All relevant information for the project is included in the Design Document. This project is being done in parallel with my Inventing with Technology students work on a similar micro:bit data logging project. Each student is developing a project where they will use the micro:bit to collect data over time for some specific purpose / location. Students are learning to model their micro:bit as a way to learn 3D modeling in Onshape. Students will design a 3D printed enclosure for their micro:bit that allows them to mount their micro:bit in the situation that are attempting to log data. For example students are planning on using their micro:bit for the following situations...
Attached to a dog's collar to track barking noise
Mounted to cup holder in car to track temperature and light
On top of vending machine to track noise
On basketball hoop to track frequency of shots that hit basket/hoop
Tracking sound, light, and temperature in various locations to determine optimal study areas on campus
