Students who have enjoyed their work in the Innovation and Technology Department and who are eager to deepen their learning are invited to apply to the Innovation and Technology Capstone course. This course will offer students dedicated time, space, and resources to develop and execute a large semester-long independent project. Students will be responsible for directing their own learning, identifying and setting project goals, and showcasing their work.
Rising juniors and seniors who have taken at least two courses within the Innovation and Technology Department can apply by submitting a Capstone Proposal at the link below by January 31, 2025. Once applications are received, a follow up meeting will be scheduled to review your proposal and determine instructor approval.
Course Highlights:
Personalized Learning: Students are encouraged to select projects of personal significance, ensuring that each endeavor is unique and tailored to their individual interests.
Project Portfolio: Students will document each stage of their project, from inception to completion, to build a detailed design portfolio.
End-of-Semester Showcase: Students will present their projects, sharing their experience with peers, faculty, and parents.
Problem Solving: Students will develop their abilities to identify real-world challenges, approach them creatively, and find innovative solutions.
Self-Directed Learning: Students will guide their own learning and pursue the skills and knowledge necessary to realize their project.
Resilience & Adaptability: The class will cultivate a mindset where students perceive challenges as learning opportunities, helping them to adapt, iterate, and evolve their project based on feedback and reflection.
