Getting Started

Q: How do I create an account and start using DAWn Audio?

Visit the Getting Started page and follow instructions for the correct OS and music creation software you use


Q: How do I set up my studio in DAWn Audio?

Visit our Setting Up A DAWn Studio page and follow instructions to Create or Join a DAWn Studio


Q: What initial configurations are necessary?

Our current beta requires the use of some third-party extensions. To install, please visit the Getting Started page and follow instructions for the correct OS and Music Creation Software (DAW) that you use

Technical Support

Q: Why is my audio not working correctly?

Check out how to Set Up Your Studio Workflow to make sure your audio is routed correctly.

If issues persist, ensure VB Cable is installed and set up as per the DAWn Academy guide, and check that your DAW's audio settings match DAWn's requirements. 


Q: What should I do if my co-creators don't appear?

First, try leaving and rejoining the studio.

If issues persist, restart the app and ensure everyone is using the latest version.

To update the app, simply visit the Apple or Windows app store.


Q: Why are Play/Stop not working in my DAW?

Ensure your MIDI ports are set up per the DAWn Academy guide, and check that your DAW's settings match DAWn's requirements. 

If issues persist, check the Settings page in your app to ensure you’ve selected the correct MIDI port.


Q: What should I do if my collaborators’ playback isn’t synchronized?

You may have to change the buffer size in your DAW or the block size in Netty to adjust for any additional latency.

Q: Why is the audio clipping or sounding static?

Please ensure the sample rate for all collaborators is the same in their DAW and in Netty. Check out how to Set Up Your Studio Workflow for instructions on adjusting the sample rate in Netty.

If issues persist, please note that after about 90 minutes, the audio quality in the studios may start to degrade. Please have all collaborators leave the studio, then rejoin once everyone has left. You’ll be prompted to wait 2-3 minutes while the studio is reopened, resetting the audio quality.

We apologize for the wait time and are working on a more permanent solution to this issue

Collaboration

Q: How do I invite collaborators to my studio?

A: To invite collaborators to your studio, they must be your friend in the app. Please visit the Discover Page guide for instructions on how to add friends. To invite friends to your studio, click “Invite Friends” in the studio page, select the corresponding friend, and click “Invite”.


Q: How can I manage studio access?

You can set a password for private studios or leave it open for public access.


Q: What are the best practices for collaborating in real-time?

Ensure all collaborators have stable internet connections and utilize the "Play" or "Stop" features on the studio page to synchronize the playback from your separate projects.
