Fight the Summer Slide! Just a few minutes of reading and math each day will help prevent summer slide in these two critical areas for elementary students. It doesn't need to be paper pencil type work or even someting that seems like work. It can be fun games, reading road signs, counting floor tiles, rocks, sea shells, the number of leg swings to make the swing go as high as you want at the park, anything that keeps that little mind working and thinking will do the trick.
Here are some great resources with ideas of things to use at home as well!

Mrs. Yeiser and the Crossroads Family Resource Center also sent home some great summer learning books! Finish those and bring them back at the beginning of the year for a prize!
