Needs Assessment Form
We would love to have your input on what we're doing well and what we need to improve at Audubon. We only had 10 parent responses last year. Our goal is 125 this year. You can click here to fill out the form or scan the QR code when this sheet comes home next week. Either way, please sign and return the sheet so we can make sure we have as much feedback as possible.
Starting the week of October 23rd, we are welcoming visitors into the lunchroom. Please read below for our visitor requirements.
All visitors must:
be listed as contacts in Infinite Campus (Parent Portal).
have an approved background check on file.
fill out this form at least 24 hours before your visit.
abide by the DCPS code of conduct.
*We are so excited to welcome our Eagle families into our building for lunch.
In the name of fun and letting kids be kids, we are going to give students options on how they dress on October 31st. The options are as follows:
Wear regular school clothes
Dress in your favorite PJ's
Wear your Halloween costume: No masks, no face paint, no accessories, no scary costumes.
*We still want to provide the best learning environment for our students with as few distractions as possible. This will be interesting. :-)
Can you believe we are already through the first 10 weeks of school! Time sure does fly when you're having fun! It has been an incredible year so far and I'm so excited about what the rest of this year holds. Our students and staff are working incredibly hard to make each day better than the last. We are also focusing in on our mission statement: Always Expect Success. Students are learning that this means they demonstrate our mission by showing grit, integrity, and self-control to GIVE the best effort and EXPECT the best results.
I need to apologize for the lapse in our school newsletter for communication. Our district has rolled out a brand new website for our school and we have been trying to communicate through that platform, but I feel like we still need a monthly newsletter. Expect to receive this communication once each month to keep you informed on the latest Audubon news.
I can't express what an honor it is to get to serve your children as we work to provide the best environment, the best instruction, and the best opportunities and Audubon Elementary. The view of the future is so bright!!! We look forward to seeing you all next week at parent-teacher conferences so we can partner with you even more to help your children succeed. Thank you for all you do each day to support your child!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Velotta
