I am so excited to be your School Counselor at North Davie Middle School! I have been serving this school since 2004. I am also proud to be an Adjunct Instructor in the Online Counseling Program at Wake Forest University, where I teach graduate-level courses including Advanced Counseling Skills.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Wake Forest University (CACREP-accredited) and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development with a concentration in Human Services from Virginia Tech. I am also a Licenesed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with students at the elementary and middle school levels, focusing on supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. My professional interests include school counseling, crisis intervention, and parent education. I maintain active membership in professional organizations such as the American School Counseling Association and the North Carolina School Counseling Association. Additionally I have National Board Certification along with a North Carolina School Counseling Licensure (K–12).
Outside of work, I value self-care and balance in life. I enjoy practicing yoga, hiking, camping, playing tennis, and most of all, spending quality time with my family. One of my sons attends UNC Charlotte and my other son is at Davie High School. My husband is a 7th grade math teacher here at North Davie Middle School.
