Mrs. Darst holds degrees from Westminster Choir College (Bachelors of Music Education, K-12) and The University of New Mexico (Master's of Music Education with emphasis in Early Childhood Music). Mrs. Darst has worked with students of all ages in both the general music classroom and choral rehearsals. She started her career as an elementary music teacher, where she spent one year at Langtree Charter Academy in Mooresville teaching general music and 6th grade chorus. An opening at Clemmons Middle School presented itself just a year later providing an easier commute between her two jobs (Clemmons Presbyterian). Mrs. Darst worked full time at Clemmons Middle School as their 6th-8th grade chorus teacher for the next three years and continued her part time job at Clemmons Presbyterian as the Director of Music. When the Chorus job opened at Davie County High School, she immediately put her name into the hat hoping to get the opportunity to be a part of the Davie County family.
